On November 23rd, I preached a sermon entitled "Ivan's Story." This sermon told the story of an immigrant to the United States and considered the topic of immigrant justice.
Since the 23rd, there is much to report:
At the worship service on the 23rd we dedicated our offering to the Immigrant Justice Advocacy Movement. Last week I presented IJAM with a check for $1,177.
Earlier this week I received a phone call from the Unitarian Universalist Association Washington Office for Advocacy. They want to use this sermon as part of the lobbying packet they present to members of Congress when they discuss legislation concerning immigration.
Last, but not least, Sarah gave birth to a son yesterday. I went and visited Ivan, Sarah, and their baby at the hospital first thing this morning. They are healthy and happy.
